NEW YORK – UM, the Interpublic Group Media Agency, (NYSE: IPG), announced today that Eileen Kiernan will join the agency in newly formed role of Global Chief Marketing Officer. With over 20 years of experience spanning brand management, strategic planning, business development, and team leadership. Eileen’s diverse background from both the media owner and agency perspective provides diversity of thought that UM celebrates.

Prior to her new role at UM, Eileen was most recently EVP, Human Experience Strategy at MediaVest charged with developing the creative space between insights and planning across key clients to drive more innovative product solutions. In addition, Eileen has spent time at NBC Universal as Vice President of Integrated Sales Marketing and four years leading Integrated Marketing Solutions at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

In this newly created role, Eileen will have global responsibility for the positioning of the UM brand and advocating this position to key geographical areas to support the leading and innovative position that UM has today. As a member of UM’s global leadership team, Eileen will collaborate with all discipline leads to enhance UM’s product offerings. Eileen will also manage UM’s corporate communications team to oversee press outreach, website development, agency social media strategy, and internal communication platforms. To further ensure UM is best aligned with IPG Mediabrands and its core pillars, Eileen will help define UM in the overall strategic efforts across all entities. As Global Chief Marketing Officer, Eileen will also partner closely with HR on agency training initiatives and on-boarding efforts to drive consistency and commitment.
